This is a 5x7inch wet plate collodion photograph on glass.  Also known as an Ambrotype.  The frame is hand made from recycled barn wood from Northern Wisconsin. Ambrotype images have a unique depth that is hard to capture in an image on a computer screen.  The glass used to make the photograph was reclaimed from an antique window.  The image is protected with a coating of sandarac varnish and backed with a black coating to create a positive image.
