A 5x7inch Tintype of my faithful Ibanez Artist electric guitar.   Built in the 1970's the guitar has a classic sunburst finish which renders dark in wet plate collodion.  This photograph is made on a aluminum plate using 1850's technology.   You might notice the image is reversed which is a characteristic of tintype photographs.  The image is made from pure silver and is protected with a varnish made of frankincense and lavender oil.   With care it could last centuries!  The frame is handmade from recovered barn wood from Northern Wisconsin.
